WELCOME to the college process. Since you have already gone through a selective admissions process when you applied to Interlochen, you have a sense of all that is involved. You have completed applications, asked for teacher recommendations and auditioned to gain admission. However this time the task may appear more challenging. There are over 2500 colleges and universities in the United States from which to select schools. You may have also heard about the increasing competitiveness at the most selective schools, and also the costs of financing a college education. You may be wondering, “Which schools will admit me, and what will I be able to afford?”
Counseling Services is here to help guide you through the college admission process. Your college counselor will, offer you important guidance and support during this process. We will help you evaluate your choices, and offer a realistic assessment of your chances of admission. Successful completion of this process requires close communication between you, your family and your college counselor. Success is most likely to be achieved if we all approach this process with cooperation, humor and commitment.
