How to apply ::

If you're looking for a fulfilling summer camp experience, where the work is challenging and fun and where you share in the enthusiasm of achievement, we invite you to submit an employment application. Here's what you need to do:

  • Step 1 - review our job descriptions page
  • Step 2 - obtain an application and Interlochen reference forms (3 required)
  • Step 3 - obtain any required supplementary applications
  • Step 4 - send in your application materials
  • Step 5 - we'll respond to your application

Step 2
- Obtain an Application and Interlochen Reference Forms (3 REQUIRED)

Everyone needs to complete and submit our seasonal employment application and Interlochen reference forms (3 required). Please read the information thoroughly prior to completing the application. Carefully complete application(s) and obtain any required reference materials. Provide us with detailed information regarding your credentials and background as it relates to working at a summer camp. We expect approximately 2,500 applicants; therefore, the greater the detail the better.

Please use the PDF forms, print clearly or type your information. Be sure to include your social security number, e-mail address and phone numbers where you can be reached. Be sure to sign your application(s). All forms are in Adobe Acrobat Reader, don't have it Download it for free.

You can obtain the necessary forms online or by e-mailing, calling, or writing Interlochen. 



Step 3
- Obtain Any Additional Application Materials 

Some applicants will need to complete and submit additional application materials. Review the supplemental application requirements listed below and select any that apply to your job interests at Interlochen. You can also call or write for materials (see contact information below).

Supplemental requirements for: 
  • Cabin Counselor applicants: Supplemental Application Download (PDF)
  • Recreation/Challenge Course Staff applicants:  Supplemental Application  Download (PDF)
  • Collaborative Pianist applicants:  Must submit a resume, list of vocal and instrumental repertoire and a sound recording of two contrasting works. (Tapes/CD's will not be returned)-Application deadline is February 1st.
  • Faculty applicants:  Must submit a resume and cover letter. 
  • Visual Arts applicants:  Must submit a portfolio or slides (include SASE).
  • Photography Internship applicants:  Must submit a resume and twenty photo samples.
  • Marketing and Communications Internship applicants:  Must submit a resume and three non-academic writing samples.
  • Video Internship applicants:  Must submit a resume and four-five minutes of original, edited video footage.
  • Transportation, Security and Pedestrian Safety Officer applicants :  Supplemental Application Download (PDF)



Step 4
- Send In Your Application Materials

ALL CORRESPONDENCE MUST BE MADE DIRECTLY TO HUMAN RESOURCES. Applications will begin the review process once all materials have been received by the Human Resource Office.  Including:  Seasonal Application, three reference forms and any supplemental materials (position specific).

Step 5
- We Will Respond To Your Application 

We will acknowledge receipt of your application materials via email. When all materials have been received your application will be screened by one of our camp supervisors. After the first of the year, we will begin filling vacancies for the upcoming camp season.
