FAQ's about Interlochen employment:

  • Please visit our IAC Employee Information Page.
  • Contact the Human Resources Office.
  • Our application materials can be found on our How to Apply page.
  • The 2009 Camp Employee Handbook will be available in Spring 2009, please refer to our 2008 Camp Employee Handbook as a reference.
  • All correspondence must be made through the Human Resources Office.
  • Resumes are not required but for all positions can be helpful.
  • New staff hiring usually begins after the first of the year.
  • The Human Resources office is open from 8:30am - 4:30pm EST Monday through Saturday.
  • Most camp positions do not have an application deadline date.  We hire on “rolling basis".  Positions that do have a deadline are indicated on the job description.

  • INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS who are on an F-1 Visa must apply for a CPT or OPT through their college/university.


FAQ's about the Interlochen application process:

Applications must be complete in order to go on to the screening process.

  • Application materials may be faxed to us, but to begin the screening process, we MUST have original copies of all application materials.
  • Some positions require supplemental application materials. 
  • Applications must be complete and must have a signature.
  • Applications will not be sent off for screening until all application materials are received including refference forms, and any supplemental materials.
  • We will send applications to be screened according to the preferences you have chosen; if a position is full we will send your application to your next preference.
  • Screening of applications normally takes two to three weeks.
  • Some departments require an additional phone or e-mail interview.


FAQ's about the Interlochen reference forms: 
  • Section 1 of the reference form must be signed and dated by the applicant.
  • Reference forms must be signed and dated by the reference writer.
  • Applicants must have three references in order to be considered and they must be completed on Interlochen forms. 
  • Reference forms MUST be sent in directly from the reference writer.
  • Reference writer may add an additional sheet.
  • Suggestions for individual to have complete the reference forms:
    -Current and past teachers
    -Current and past employers
    -Supervisors
    -Adult co-worker
    -Interlochen Alumni
    -Clergy
    ****Reference forms MAY NOT be done by family members or minors
